A random thought

I was examining the issue with Africa and each and every country on the continent. To gain a better understanding of the true nature of our developmental problems and the path forward.

To begin, it is about the fact that our smallest units of development and human building, which serve as the lowest recognized body and institution, such as the university, secondary school, and even primary education, do not appear to work.

In terms of a functioning system, the school should be the smallest unit of representation and development. However, the education system at the most basic level is quite flawed, which is cause for concern. Particularly because it is through the education system that the majority of the population passes that qualifications for leadership in systems of governance are disseminated.

Every governor, president, and other public officials pass through this level, and yet we continue to have a corrupt nation and a disturbed populace. All fingers almost certainly point to the fact that something is seriously wrong with the widely recognized institution through which everyone passes.

Another point of contention is our conformity to western systems and ways of life, which cast a pall over our ethics, culture, and values as a people. Our people are more gullible when our cultures are not firmly established. It’s comparable to attempting a Lion Swim or a fish walk. Things are not always as they appear.

However, let us agree that Africa is still in its infancy, and thus conforming, imitating, or even adopting foreign systems of government is inappropriate. Then what is the way out of this and not further into it?

I came up with an answer, Innovation. It is the only way to chart a course forward.
