Walk Your Way Back from the Future

This is the only way to move at your own pace, regardless of economic conditions, and still accomplish great things.

One of the biggest obstacles to achieving your goals at an optimal speed — aside from yourself — is the economy. If you are not the block, then you can be certain the economy will be.

Economies are programmed to move at a certain pace, whether slow, fast, or rapidly growing. This pace significantly affects individual progress, shaping how people live and work.

However, one way to break free from the limitations of economic conditions and still achieve remarkable progress is to set a lifetime goal.

What Is a Lifetime Goal?

A lifetime goal is the ultimate vision of what you want to accomplish in your existence. The best way to structure it is by breaking it down into decade milestones — what you aim to achieve in each ten-year period.

A lifetime goal has no limits except those you place on yourself. If you can dream it, that’s all you need to break past economic barriers. Regardless of the country’s direction or political economy, your daily commitment to these objectives will drive you forward.

Goals Are More Than Just a New Year’s Resolution

Goals are not just clichés that people encourage you to write down at the start of a new year. They are far more powerful than that.

From my observations, those who have achieved greatness were extremely serious about what they wanted. They committed to daily growth and relentless pursuit of their objectives until they exceeded their own expectations.

Your lifetime goal is often framed around a vision of what is possible for your future. Looking at it from your current standpoint, you might wonder: Will this really matter later? The answer is yes — not only will it matter, but it could become the seed of something even greater. Your future success will not fall far from the seeds you plant today.

Document Your Goals

When you set a lifetime goal, ensure you document it in an online repository such as Google Sheets, Keep Notes, or Docs.new, so you can access it anytime.

Your Job: Walk Toward the Future at Your Own Pace

With your goals set in milestones, your task is to take daily actions that move you toward them. When you finally arrive at that envisioned future, you’ll be grateful you took the first step.
