You have to be building something …

There are some insane builds that actually transform the world and set the bar for what is possible in the world of men or what is truly achievable.

At a time when two-thirds of Africa’s 1.74 billion people are unemployed, it’s more important than ever for the majority of us to have a builder’s attitude. This does not suggest that we should all aspire to manage multibillion-dollar businesses, but rather that we should have a multibillion-dollar attitude and thought pattern.

The idea is that we’re all developing something together. When the United States planned to send a man to the moon for the first time, the president asked the janitor what he was doing in the NASA Center, he responded he was helping to place a man on the moon instead of washing the floor. That’s a mindset that can’t be easily beaten or shattered.

In the same way, it’s critical that we have the same or even a better mind that’s focused on advancement, growth, leadership, servanthood, and superior managerial abilities.

You may be working for an early-stage startup and not be a co-founder or a founding employee, but one thing is certain: if your share of the work is absent, the business will notice. However, if your part of the job is done well, the organization will progress.

The advantage is that, if your part is done effectively, there is no doubt that you will be promoted, either inside the company or to a new disruptive initiative that will arise in your imagination.

The tiniest spark plug in a vehicle’s vast engine compartment is as important as the heaviest battery in the same vehicle.
